Tech Talk

Arimidex belongs to a category and class of drugs known as aromatase inhibitors (AIs). Aromatase inhibitors belong to an even broader class of drugs known as anti-estrogens. The other subcategory of drug under the anti-estrogen’s classification is the selective estrogen receptor modulators (SERMs), such as Tamoxifen.

AIs and SERMs make up anti-estrogens. Aromatase Inhibitors differ from SERMs in their action and how they deal with the issues of estrogen control and are taken during a cycle to keep estrogen levels under control.

As an AI, Arimidex functions by blocking the aromatase enzyme, which is in turn responsible for the production of estrogen. By inhibiting the aromatase process, Arimidex will lower the body’s serum estrogen levels; in fact, a total suppression of estrogen by 80% has been well noted with this AI. This will prove very beneficial to numerous breast cancer patients and extremely valuable to many SARM users.

Arimidex use has been shown to raise the endogenous production of testosterone in men. This is through the negative feedback loop of the HPTA (Hypothalamic Pituitary Testicular Axis), whereby it has been found that excess Estrogen in men can and does suppress the output of endogenous Testosterone.

Everything You Need to Know about Arimidex

One of the top priorities of a weight training program is getting a proper post cycle therapy or PCT. You will lose the gains that you worked hard for. And when it comes to PCT, the most popular choice among bodybuilders today is Arimidex.

What is Arimidex?

Anastrozole is the generic name of Arimidex. It is an anti-estrogen that was developed by Zenaca Pharmaceuticals in the early 1990s. It was formulated to help reduce the levels of estrogen hormones in postmenopausal women. When the estrogen level is left uncontrolled, it can lead to the development of tumors around the breasts that can become cancerous. Women suffering from breast cancer use Arimidex as their secondary treatment after using other anti-estrogen drugs such as Tamoxifen citrate or Nolvadex.

How Does Arimidex Work?

Arimadex is an aromatase inhibitor that blocks the activity of aromatase enzymes in the body. These enzymes convert androgens into estrogen, as well as produce estrogen. It is one of the most powerful anti-estrogen drugs on the market today. It can suppress up to 80 percent of estrogen when used on a regular basis. Studies have shown that Arimidex helps in the production of luteinizing hormone and follicle stimulating hormone. The former boosts natural production of testosterone.

Why Use Arimidex PCT

One reason why you should use Arimidex during PCT is to produce a barrier that will protect you from estrogen-related conditions that include gynecomastia. Gyno is a side effect of having too much estrogen in the body during post cycle therapy. Bodybuilders might notice lump forming within the breast or the nipple area. If left untreated, it might require surgery to remove.

Water retention is another side effect of using anabolic androgenic steroids. It will give you a full look. It will make you look fat. The extra water weight can also strain the lipids in the body.

However, inhibiting estrogen too aggressively can cause the hormone level to drop too low. That can result to loss of energy, low libido, depression, and erectile dysfunction. It is recommended to use Arimidex after the cycle with prohormones and anabolic steroids.

Arimidex Administration

For anabolic steroid users, the most common dosage for Arimidex is 0.5 to 1 mg every other day. There might be some cases wherein more than 1 mg is needed every other day. However, majority of bodybuilders are fine with 0.5 mg. There are Arimidex PCT plans that require less the amount, especially for low testosterone treatments. Competitive bodybuilders may need the full 1 mg dosage every day for the last ten to 14 days leading up to their competition. It will help in hardening and toning their muscles, but it can be draining.

A lot of anabolic steroid users take Arimidex during their post cycle therapy. If you are going to take it for your PCT, be sure that you get it from a reputable source. That way you will be able to get the results that you are looking for. Not only that getting your supply from a legitimate supplier will help you avoid unwanted side effects that can damage your health.
